Randi Maria Machala

55, of Carmel passed away on December 6, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Randi is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Wayne Arnold Machala; children Matthew Wayne Machala, Tracey Lynn Machala, and John Michael Machala; mother Kathryn Elizabeth Waage Kusslid; sister Berit Karen Nordvik (Oddvar); and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Per Waage and her step-father Karl Kusslid.

Randi was born at a mission hospital in Antananarivo, Madagascar and spent her childhood and high school years living between Wisconsin and Norway. Throughout her life, Randi maintained dual citizenship of both Norway and the United States. Randi was a graduate of Martinsville High School, class of 1977. She settled in Indianapolis at the age of 23 after completing her technical certificate in nursing at IVY Tech in Bloomington, Indiana. Over her 32 year career as a nurse, Randi shared her caring heart with thousands of patients in need. She will be remembered most for her loving smile, warm hugs, and the love and care she provided to so many especially her family.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 11 from 2 to 8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 12 at 10 AM with visitation 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home with burial following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
