Randall "Randy" William Swoboda

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Randall William Swoboda "Randy", 65, of Indianapolis. Randy passed away January 30, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 15, 1960, to parents Rudolph George Swoboda and Beverly Ann Swoboda in Indianapolis.

Randy was an avid sports fan (except for soccer, which he did not consider a real sport). He especially loved the Cincinnati Bengals and the Reds. He was a dedicated umpire and referee for IHSAA Sports for many, many years, and he was also on the Little League Board. This was one of his biggest passions in life, and he pursued it until he could no longer.

Randy was a man of strong faith, being an attendee of Doxa Bible Church. His faith in the Lord was unwavering, and he shared that light with everyone he met. He loved his family deeply, and his goodness can be seen in those he leaves behind. Randy was a selfless, devoted father who would do anything for his children. He put his family above all else and he was truly the definition of what it means to be a "father".

It should be noted that Randy was a massive enjoyer of Elvis Presley.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Swoboda. He is survived by his beloved mother, Beverley Swoboda; wife Victoria Swoboda; children Amber Swoboda, William Swoboda, Tyler Swoboda, Justin Swoboda, Olivia McCloud (step-daughter), and Emmanual McCloud (step-son); siblings Lori Swoboda-Hickson (Marc), Steven Swoboda, Lisa Jones, Scott Swoboda (Angie); several nieces and nephews; his Beloved church family; and of course, we would be remiss without mentioning his Beloved Squirrel Companion at Anderson Cemetery.

Anyone who knew Randy will fondly remember his comedic inclinations. Always ready with perfect timing, it is said that he had a "book of jokes" stored on the tip of his tongue.

His jokes and laughter will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at Doxa Bible Church (5905 E. Southport Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237) on Monday, February 9 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. His funeral will immediately follow. Attendees will process to Washington Park East Cemetery (10612 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229).
