Randal A. Lindsay, age 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 25th, 2026.
He was born September 2nd, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Margaret Louise Allen Lindsay and Wayman L. Lindsay Sr. In addition to his parents, Randal was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Walton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Myra Brown; his two daughters, Megan Cope and her husband David Cope, and Logan Overly and her husband Kory Overly; his stepdaughter, Mara Burke and her husband Michael Burke; his stepson, Isaiah Shaffer and his partner Bre Elzer; his brother, Wayman Lindsay Jr. and his wife Judy Lindsay; his sister, Stephanie Lindsay-Friend and her husband David Friend; his five grandchildren: Marley Shull, Holston Cope, Zealand Overly, Nora Burke and Olivia Burke; and his aunt Agnes Billingsley; along with many other family and friends who will miss him deeply.
Randal was a devout, generous, devoted, and loving man who brought joy to those around him. He loved country music, go-kart racing, and watching NASCAR and Formula 1 races, as well as cheering for his beloved Indianapolis Colts. Playing competitive board games, card games, and Words with Friends with his family was one of his favorite pastimes. Randal also enjoyed riding roller coasters, watching Star Wars and Marvel superhero movies, attending Broadway musicals, and taking cruises with his wife. His love for animals was well known, earning him the affectionate title of “#1 Cat Dad” later in life. Randal often dreamed of venturing into space and imagined what it would be like to be a race car driver. He never met anyone he didn’t consider a friend, and his kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Randal’s selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever.
A celebration of Randal’s life will be held at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2706 Kessler Boulevard West Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a celebration of life service following from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Randal’s memory by donating to the Marion County IndyHumane Animal Shelter or the Morgan County Humane Society.
