Ramon L. Jackson, 86, Carmel, passed away May 15, 2018. He was born January 8, 1932, in Stinking Creek, KY, the son of the late Alfred and Tressie (Hubbard) Jackson.
Ray proudly served in the United States Army. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University and his Master’s degree in Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He had a wonderful, fulfilling career as a guidance counselor with Dayton (Ohio) Public Schools. He was a very hard-working person with a can-do attitude. He was quick with a smile or to make you laugh, and he was a loving and attentive father. He loved ballroom dancing and enjoyed being a part of the entertainment staff for various cruises, enabling him to travel the world.
He is survived by his son, Alan (Mary) Jackson; four grandchildren, Savannah and Grace Jackson and Mia and Amy Ritter; ex-wife and close friend Faye (Lou Sidwell) Jackson; twin brother, Lyman D. Jackson; sister, Trilva Buttree; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by a son Timothy Ritter, and seven brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com
