Ralph O. Horneffer

Ralph Otto Horneffer 76, entered Heaven at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Ralph was born on February 15, 1937, the son of German immigrants Kurt and Sofie Horneffer. He graduated from Manual High School in 1955 and Indiana Business College in 1957. He was a dedicated restaurateur who devoted many years to his love of food. He served for nearly 30 years as Vice President of Shapiro's Delicatessen, a well known Indianapolis landmark and as Owner/President of Ralf's Deli from 1980 to 1988. Ralph was a longtime member of the Speedway Methodist Church and was a very kind, gentle and unassuming person with a loving heart. Ralph's memories will be cherished by his loving wife Peggy Horneffer; adoring children, Mark and his wife Kathy Horneffer, Debbie and her husband Paul Elsey, Keith and his wife Lauren Horneffer, Kent and his wife Gretchen Horneffer, Leanne and her husband Jim Yeary, Jeff Marshall, Kevin and his wife Valerie Marshall, David Marshall, Jennifer Marshall, 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren that admired Grandpa Ralph. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Flanner and Bu chanan - Washington Park North , 2706 Kessler Blvd. W Dr., Indianapolis, Indiana, for visitation on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Flanner and Buchanan. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Reception is immediately following in the Canal Suite at Flanner and Buchanan.
