Ralph E. -Gene- Sutton

Ralph E. “Gene” Sutton, 81 of Indianapolis passed away July 10, 2016. He was born July 2, 1935 in Fountain Run, Kentucky to Andrew and Dolly Sutton who precede him in death. He moved to Indianapolis with his family in his youth. He served in the US Army. On July 16, 1956, he married Erline "Lucy" Bates. Gene retired from International Harvester (Navistar) in 1988 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement, keeping busy cutting grass and spending time with his great-grand kids, neighbors and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Erline "Lucy" Sutton. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kimberly (Adam) Stinson and Beth, his sister, Bernice Key, his grandchildren, Allen (Andrea) Smith, DeAnna Smith, Michael (Ayla) Stinson, Amanda, Stacy, Alexis, Ashley and Tiffiny and Great-grandchildren, Briley, Lily, Finn and Adeline.

Friends may visit with his family from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday at Washington Park East. Military honors and entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
