Rachel Lou Joachim

Rachel Lou Joachim of Brownsburg, IN passed away June 15, 2023, at the age of 83.  Rachel was born on March 20, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN.  Rachel began her career in nursing for 45 years, first as an aide, then as an LPN then she became a registered nurse where Rachel was in the inaugural nursing class of 1978 at Marion University in Indianapolis.   was preceded in death by her parents Enos and Ethelyn Akers and her sister Marha Leslie and her brother Raymond Akers and her sister Ruth Carroll and her brother Charles Akers.  No Services are scheduled.  Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 65 years James Francis Joachim, her daughter Deborah (Andrew) Jones and her sister Elizabeth Mendenhall and her brother Ralph (Judy) Akers and many extended family and friends.  Inurnment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery.  In Remembrance of Rachel, the family asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association.
