R.H. Emmert

Age 89, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was born in Monroe County, Kentucky on June 22, 1926 to the late Rasmus Hunter and Lottie (Tooley) Emmert. He retired from Burk Delivery in 1983, where he worked as a truck driver.

R.H. was preceded in death by his wife, Genola (Blaydes) Emmert: three sons: Mitchel H. Emmert and twins, Terry and Jerry Emmert; step-son, Robert “Bob” Sanders; step-daughters, Barbara Hicks and Connie Dodd; and four brothers.

R.H. is survived by daughter Nancy Emmert; two sisters, Evelyn Pitcock and Anna Jean Thompson; step-sons, Larry Joe Cummins and Donny Cummins; step son-in-law, Harry Hicks; and numerous other family and friends.

Calling will be held from 12pm until 4pm on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, where services will immediately follow at 4:00pm. Burial will be held at 10am on Monday, May 2, 2016 in Memorial Park Cemetery.
