Preston L. 'Pete' Bishop

Preston L. “Pete” Bishop 88 of Indianapolis died January 09, 2011. Pete was born April 21, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA to Preston Witt and Mary Gertrude (Lennox) Bishop. Pete was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He was a Vice President of Sales with Bodge Truck Lines where he retired in 1981. He was a Past President of the Indianapolis Truck Club and a member of the Indianapolis Traffic Club. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, and 3rd degree member of the St. Monica Knights of Columbus #11927, a 29 year member of the American Legion Zionsville Post 79 and a lifetime member of D.A.V. Pete was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Marie (DuFrain) Bishop. Calling will be held on Thursday January 13, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46228 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday January 14, 2011 at 11 AM at the funeral center. Pete is survived by his sons Donald D. (Pam) Bishop and Preston J. “P.J.” (Regina) Bishop five grandchildren Bill (Shelly) Bishop, Dan (Stephanie) Bishop, Bill (Jody) Gleason, Jenny (Dax) Lowery, Jill Bishop and five great grandchildren Isabella, Sam, Thomas, Katelyn Bishop and Christian Gleason a brother Dave (Pat) Bishop and a sister Jeanne Murray. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Catholic School 6131 North Michigan Road Indianapolis, IN 46228.
