Polly Bailey Davis was born on August 30, 1942 in Farmville, Virginia to the late Samuel and Valeria Bailey. She was married to James William Davis for twenty three years. He preceded her in death in 1983. She leaves behind many loving family members from his home in Elk Park, North Carolina.
She is survived by her children: Jeanette Ann Davis (Joan) of Lynchburg, Virginia, Melissa Paige Morris (Dave) of Carmel, Indiana, and James Brian Davis (Mary) of Acworth, Georgia; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings are Virginia Gillispie (Lewis) of Keysville, Virginia, and Phillip Bailey (Anita) of Farmville Virginia. She was preceded in death by brothers: Kenneth and Vernon Bailey; sisters: Glenna Wade, Ethel Newcomb, and Marie Jamerson.
Polly was sales manager at WFLO radio in Farmville, Va for many years and loved her time there.She felt that they were family to her. She was a long time resident in Kenbridge Virginia and also resided in Farmville Virginia and Keysville Virginia before moving to Carmel Indiana in 2017 to be closer to family there. She did volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity for several years. She had a special love for cats and found lots of joy in feeding the birds.
There will be a graveside service at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel Indiana on Wednesday, April 15th at 2 pm.
