Pierino V. “Perry” Marchisello, 63, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on March 16, 2026, surrounded by love and support of his family and friends over the years.
Perry was born on September 24, 1962, in Decatur, Illinois, the beloved son of Joseph E. Marchisello and Geraldine C. (Graves) Marchisello. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Dennis Marchisello.
A lifelong Decatur resident, Perry received his early education at St. James Catholic School and graduated from St. Teresa High School. He continued his studies at Richland Community College and Illinois State University, laying the foundation for a successful career as a computer network engineer for 28 years at Tate & Lyle. Where he was able to travel all around the world. Known as a true tech guru, Perry was often the go‑to person for solving technical problems for family, friends, and colleagues alike.
Perry’s faith was the cornerstone of his life and was evident in his actions and the way he carried himself each day. His faith shaped who he was as a son, uncle, brother, father, and friend, and it guided his deep devotion to both family and community.
Perry loved life and enjoyed its many simple pleasures. He was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, an avid movie enthusiast, a devoted Snoopy fan, and a passionate foodie who especially loved grilling. He enjoyed bicycling and sharing laughter and conversation with those around him. Perry’s infectious laugh, headstrong personality, and inquisitive spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Rachel Ziegler (Wesley); his cherished grandson, Elijah Ziegler; his mother, Geraldine C. (Graves) Marchisello; his sister, Lisa Norton (Sean); his nieces Bailey (Jake) and Lindsay; his brothers, Douglas Marchisello; his nephews AJ and Nick; and Joseph “Phil” Marchisello; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives, friends, staff, and caregivers who provided support and care for Perry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date and time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North.
