It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Ann Winch, who departed this life on April 23, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on January 17, 1941, to the late Ralph and Anna (Coffey) Shipp.
Phyllis was a beloved mother and cherished friend, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Phyllis was preceded in death by her devoted husband Myron (Mike), loving sisters Patricia (Coulson) and Mary (Richey), nephews Michael (Coulson), Joey (Coulson), and Chuck (Richey).
Phyllis is survived by her devoted daughter, Angela New, who will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and resilience. She is also survived by her dear niece Shannon (Goebel), and several other nieces and nephews. Her spirit will continue to shine through her family and friends, as they remember the joy and warmth she brought into their lives.
In accordance with her wishes, Phyllis will be cremated, with a respectful disposition taking place at Washington Park East Cemetery. A celebration gathering honoring the life of Phyllis will be held on Saturday June 6th, 2026, from 3-6pm at the VFW Hall 2999 located at 3553 English Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46201.
As we celebrate the life of Phyllis, we encourage all who knew her to gather and share their memories, reflecting on the impact she had on so many. Her kindness, wisdom, and compassion will be deeply missed, yet she will forever remain in our hearts.
