Phyllis Virginia Kidd Oldham, 84 died on Saturday, January 22, 2011. Born on March 19, 1926 in Lafayette, Indiana, Phyllis was a graduate of Purdue University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi soroity. Shortly after moving to Indianapolis, she began her career at Tudor Hall School teaching English. She received her masters in Library Science degree from Butler University in 1966. When Tudor Hall merged to become the current Park Tudor School, she served as the school's Upper School Librarian until her retirement in 1991. Phyllis was an active volunteer for 33 years with the Indianapolis Zoo and was honored for her long service to the organization with a park bench that bears her name. She was also an active member of the Central Christian Church having been a member of their choir from 1953-2003 as well as serving on other committees with the church. Surviving her is her son. Stephen Oldham (Debbie) of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Jennifer Oldham of Lafayette, Indiana; daughter Susan E. Humphrey; sister Marian Cunningham of Pittsburge, PA; one niece adn two nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice for their outstanding care of Phyllis and their tremendous support of the family in the time they have been involved with her care.
