Phyllis Irene Lewis Swingle

Phyllis Irene Swingle 80, Indianapolis, joined her husband Donald R. Swingle in heaven to be with God on June 19. She graduated from Ball State University with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and was a dedicated teacher over 36 years retiring from Lawrence Township in 1990. She traveled extensively making vacations a lifetime memory for her children and grandchildren while capturing every moment on camera. Phyllis was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was an avid Pacers fan. Services: 11 a.m. June 25 in Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. June 24. Burial: Washington Park East Cemetery. Phyllis is preceded in death by husband, Donald R Swingle and parents Chaska and Marie Lewis. Survivors: children; Gail E. Wilson (Danny Wilson); Gregory E. Swingle (Robin Swingle); Adele C. Murphy (Joseph Murphy); Susan L. Swingle; Christopher L. Swingle (Sherri Swingle); Peggy M. Swingle-Duffala (Hector Snyder); aunt, Yuma McConathy. Phyllis has 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Donations may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
