Phyllis (Hare) Kinnard, 103, passed away April 18, 2022 in Vernon Hills, IL. Phyllis was born November 07, 1918 in Anoka, MN to Agnes and Bert Hare. She was a member of the Zionsville Methodist Church, PSI LOTA PSI Sorority, Village Garden Club, and long-time student at the Indianapolis Art Center where she studied art for many years. She also was a member of the Ironwood Book Club. She was an avid reader, gardener and loved painting local landmarks of Zionsville and of the scenes of the Wenatchee Valley in Washington State where she grew up. She was married to Walter Kinnard for 70 years. They loved their 60 years spent in Zionsville, IN and were very active in the community. They moved up to Vernon Hills, IL in 2010 to be nearer their daughter and lived in Hawthorn Lakes Retirement Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, son Stephen and brothers, Harlan, Kenny, and Neil Hare and sister, Joan Weeks. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Gustafson, grandchildren, Anne (Stefan) Galau, Mary Gustafson and Stephen Gustafson, Rachel Kinnard and Jeremy (Ashley) Kinnard. Phyllis will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her family is comforted knowing she lived a wonderful life.
