Phillip Harman

Phillip M. Harman, 64 of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Phil was born April 30, 1949 in Beech Grove to the late Millard and Letha Harman. He was a 1973 graduate of Indiana State University. Phil was a small business owner. Prior, he was Director of Marketing and Corporate Services for Methodist Occupation Health. He had also worked as a manufacturer's representative. Phil was a member of Castleton United Methodist Church, was past president and board member of the Windridge Condo Association and had been a founding board member of the Lawrence Township Foundation. Phil loved sports; he played basketball at Lawrence Central and at Franklin College. He was an avid hiker, camper and bird-watcher, which he shared with his family; especially his granddaughters. This year, he and his wife completed the Al-Can Highway. He had a love for adventure. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28 at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple, where family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Phil is survived by his wife, Carla; children, Nicholas W. (wife, Jona) Harman and Natalie R. (husband, Chad) Johnson; granddaughters, Caitlin and Mara Johnson; sister, Melinda Memmer. He will be greatly missed by high school friends and extended family members. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart/American Stroke Association.
