Phillip M. Harman, 64 of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Phil was born April 30, 1949 in Beech Grove to the late Millard and Letha Harman. He was a 1973 graduate of Indiana State University.
Phil was a small business owner. Prior, he was Director of Marketing and Corporate Services for Methodist Occupation Health. He had also worked as a manufacturer's representative.
Phil was a member of Castleton United Methodist Church, was past president and board member of the Windridge Condo Association and had been a founding board member of the Lawrence Township Foundation. Phil loved sports; he played basketball at Lawrence Central and at Franklin College. He was an avid hiker, camper and bird-watcher, which he shared with his family; especially his granddaughters. This year, he and his wife completed the Al-Can Highway. He had a love for adventure.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28 at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple, where family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
Phil is survived by his wife, Carla; children, Nicholas W. (wife, Jona) Harman and Natalie R. (husband, Chad) Johnson; granddaughters, Caitlin and Mara Johnson; sister, Melinda Memmer. He will be greatly missed by high school friends and extended family members.
