Philip Terry Parton, 77, passed away July 20, 2015 at the home of his son, John Parton, following a lengthy illness. He was born January 4, 1938 in Elwood, Indiana to Russell A. and Mary B. (Quisenberry) Parton. Philip joined the Air Force and served from September 1955 to December 1959 in the 321st Air Refueling Squadron. He then married Rita Louise Myers August 2, 1958. From this marriage they were blessed with seven children. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2000 which was exactly 15 years, to the day, of his passing. He was in the communications field for 41 years and was Co-Owner of Lectro-Communications, Inc. with his brother. He loved model trains and upon retirement he enjoyed traveling throughout the continental United States. He was particularly inspired by visits to St. Meinrad Archabbey and Monastery in Southern Indiana. Philip was a devout Catholic who loved his church and volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist. Philip was a supportive and loving father to: Cathy (David deceased) Dell of Tipton, Terri (Nick) Croy of Frankton, Mary McCormack of Huntington, Mike (Julie) Parton of Anderson, Tim (Amanda) Parton of Tipton, John (Trudi) Parton of Alexandria, and Lisa (Bryan) Clark of Fishers. Grandchildren are: Lauren Dell, Drake Dell, Nicholas Croy (Deceased), Shanna Croy, Kelly McCormack, Orion McCormack, Kathleen McCormack, John McCormack, Jessica (Parton) Fruits, Lyndsey (Parton) Buckner, Celia Parton, Sophie Parton, Zeke Parton, Matthew Parton, Brock Gray, Sydney Parton and Deacon Clark. Great Grandchildren are: Trinity Croy, Caroline Parton, Lydia Fruits, and Braydon Buckner. Also surviving are: brother, Paul (Donna) Parton of Frankton, and sister, Linda Parton or Anderson. There will be a private mass for the family on Friday, July 24, 2015 and burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
