Philip Howe Pangborn, 66, passed away peacefully at home while comforted by his family, on November 15, 2025. His sense of humor and deep love will be forever missed. Philip was born on July 27, 1959, to parents Frederick Howe & Mary Margaret (Marschner) Pangborn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joined the Navy out of high school, where he worked as a medic for four years. After leaving the Navy, he became an RN, working for many hospitals throughout his life but retiring after several years of service here in Indianapolis.
Most importantly, Philip met his beloved wife Roanne in 1999. Together they raised their son, Michael, and remained in love no matter what life threw at them. Philip was known for his intelligence, his sense of humor, and his calm nature. Referred to as a walking dictionary, he impressed everyone with his trivia skills and knowledge of history. He also loved to travel with his family all over the world; with trips to Maine, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Europe as the more notable ones.
Philip is survived by his wife Roanne Pangborn; son Michael Pangborn (Anna); and siblings Louise Pangborn (Joe), Dorothy Rackley, Janet Parks (Gary), Stephen Pangborn, Jemmy Phillips (Kevan), Saul Marschner (Terese), and Joseph Marschner (Silvia). A graveside service will be held at Washington Park Cemetery (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 2 pm. Guests will meet at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East funeral home prior to the procession to the cemetery
