Philip Metzger Brown, 79, Fishers, passed away May 24, 2016. He was born July 29, 1936, in Warsaw, the son of Lowell Daniel and Kathryn Elizabeth (Metzger) Brown. He married Judith Bosron on July 2, 1994.
Philip received his Bachelor’s degree from Manchester College and his Master’s in teaching from Ball State University. He retired from Carmel Clay Schools after 22 years of teaching American History, prior to Carmel Clay he taught for 20 years at Howe High School. He enjoyed creating stained glass and building model ships.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judith Brown; two daughters, Katrinka (Henry) Toebes and Amanda (Thomas) O’Daniel; two step daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Phillips and Barbara Frazier; eight grandchildren, Vincent Philip Gmerek, Walter Toebes, Annalise O’Daniel, Rebecca Bunting, Aaron Bunting, Amanda Meyer, Lillian Frazier, and Faith Frazier; a brother, Thomas (Eloise) Brown; and his beloved Kitsky Mae. He was preceded in passing by his first wife, JoEllen Brown; and a grandson, Colin Toebes.
A Celebration of Life will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.
