Philip R. Brua 88, of Zionsville passed peacefully December 13, 2013
Philip is survived by his wife Linda, son Scott Brua (Lauri), step-sons Jim Henry (Marcia), Michael Henry M.D (Erin)., daughter in-law Sharon Brua, grandchildren Philip Brua, Mackenzie Brua, Thomas Brua, Matthew Henry (Kelsey), Krista Henry, Megan Stewart (J.K.), Paige Henry, Jake Henry, Hana Henry, Max Henry, Hudson Henry and great grandson Brendan Moseman.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Bessie Brua and first wife Muriel Brua. He is also preceded by his sister Shirley McGillicuddy, son John Brua, grandson Grant Henry.
Philip retired after 44 years with The Portland Cement Association as a Civil Engineer. He was a 32 degree Free Mason as a member of the Charles F. Frank Lodge #760 for 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 79. He loved his country that he served with the Army Infantry during WWII. Following the war he was a member of General Dwight D. Eisenhower's band. Philip was Zionsville Santa Clause for 18 years spreading Christmas joy to the entire city.
He loved to spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed wood working and making furniture.
Services were held Tuesday December 17, 2013 at 1pm with calling from 12pm. Visitation will be Monday December 16, 2013 from 6-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan - Zionsville
In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mitochondrial Foundation or a Charity of your choice.
