Phil A. Pickett

Phil A. Pickett, age 86, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on May 23, 2026. Phil was born on April 23, 1940, in Sheridan, Indiana, the son of the late Howard and Pearl (Thompson) Pickett.

Phil graduated from Sheridan High School in 1958. He went to Indiana University Bloomington and graduated in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics.

Out of college, Phil was employed with National Cash Register (NCR) in Dayton, Ohio as a Scientific Application Specialist. He successfully moved through the ranks in various positions, including Assistant Manager of Commercial Industrial Systems, District Manager, and became the Senior Sales Trainer with certifications in many programs. Phil was awarded many achievements during his career, including CPC High Point Club Membership, Outstanding Salesperson, AT&T Director award for Educational Achievement, NCR Leading District Management Award, and NCR Top 10 percent U.S. Salesperson Award.

Phil became a master practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming Technology, teaching over 200 workshops worldwide. After retirement, Phil became the co-founder of Learning Plus Inc., teaching professional sales.

Phil was a spiritual person and a lifelong learner. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom and encouraged others to discover their own potential. He was able to travel worldwide for business and pleasure, giving him an opportunity to experience other cultures. In his free time, Phil would spend his time fishing, sailing, and enjoying time with his friends and family.

Phil is survived by his daughters, Penny (Mark) Manier, Diana (Pat) Nommay, Sonja (Chris) Burkley; grandchildren, Travis (Amy) Manier, Casey Manier, Brandon (Morgan) Manier , Jordan Nommay, Max (Stacie) Nommay, Ben Nommay, Logan Burkley and Kara Burkley; great grandchildren, Natalie Manier, Cory Manier, Luke Manier, Hendrix Nommay, and Arie Nommay; brother, Jack Pickett; sister-in-law, Dortha Pickett.

Phil was preceded in passing by his parents, Howard and Pearl Pickett; daughter, Yvonne Pickett Manier; brothers, Clifford (Pokey) Pickett, William Pickett and wife Eleanor, Kenneth Pickett and wife Donna and sister-in-law, Carol Pickett.

A Memorial Gathering for Phil will be held from 5 pm – 7pm, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, Indiana 46062.
