Petr Tikhonovich Konovalov, born on July 1, 1934, in Shikhazany, Russia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 11, 2026, in Carmel, Indiana, with his beloved daughter by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.
Petr was known for his vibrant personality and impressive skill set. He could do anything and everything he set his mind to. Whether he was building or fixing things around the house, his hands brought forth not just utility but a sense of comfort and warmth to all who gathered in his home. He took great pride in his craft, demonstrating an organized approach to every task and a disciplined schedule that inspired those around him. Each morning, he would rise early, dedicated to maintaining his fitness and preparing for the days ahead.
Hobbies included fishing, an activity he cherished dearly. Many fond memories were created during his fishing adventures, where family and friends joined him in pursuit of the perfect catch. Camping was also a passion from his youth, allowing him to appreciate the tranquility of nature while spending time with loved ones.
Petr was the architect of a familial gathering place, having built a house with his own bare hands. This home became a sanctuary of laughter and happiness, a testament to his commitment to family and community. His memory will endure in the hearts and minds of those he touched, as he embodied the qualities of reliability and strength that one could always depend upon.
He is survived by his loving daughter Irina (Joseph) Vaysburd, son Sergei (Tatyana) Konovalov, grandchildren Julia (Bill) Nagel, Jane (Andrew) Rahke, Danil Konovalov, Vasilii Konovalov, and Sergei Konovalov. Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandchildren Azalea, Josh, Lily Nagel, Ivan, and Nikolai Rahke, alongside numerous beloved family members from the Zaitsev and Glazirin families.
Petr Konovalov was preceded in death by his parents, Tikhon Konovalov and Anna Konovalova, as well as his cherished wife, Aida Konovalova. His presence in the lives of those who knew him will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on through the many lives he has touched.
Visitation will be held on January 15, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the Funeral Service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Good Shepherd Chapel), located at 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
Petr's life was a testament to what it means to lead with heart, purpose, and dedication. His impact on his family and friends will remain forever cherished.
