Peter Franklin Komisars

Peter Franklin Komisars, 72, of Westfield passed away June 10, 2024.  He was born April 4, 1952, in Elkhart, Indiana the son of the late Richard Komisars and Gaida (Ulmanis) Thomas.  He married Inese Gzibovskis on November 25, 1977.

He worked as a licensed plumber for Wishard Eskenazi hospital for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cheering on his Indiana Hoosiers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Inese Komisars; three children, Emily (Zachary) Sutake, Ilze (Peter) Mitchell, and Peter J. (Danielle) Komisars; four grandchildren, Robert and Claire Mitchell and Jack and Halle Komisars; brother, Richard Komisars; and two sisters, Margret Maier and Rosie Barnhard. He was preceded in passing by two step-fathers, Robert S. Foster and Willard C. Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
