Penny K. Brown (McCreary), 69, of Indianapolis, passed away January 6, 2022. She was born on May 27, 1952 to the late Alfred “Bud” McCreary and Bonnie McCreary in Indianapolis.

She graduated from Howe High School and later attended IUPUI where she enjoyed the theatrical arts. Penny spent many years working as a server at Steer-Inn Diner. She truly had a servant’s heart and loved caring for those in her community. She worked diligently alongside her husband in their shoe repair business.

Penny is preceded in passing by her husband, Edwin Lee Brown Sr., her parents, and cherished brother, Scott Robert McCreary.

Penny is survived by her sister, Cindy Fee (McCreary), and brother, Jeffrey McCreary. Penny “Mama” loved and raised her husband’s children as her own: Samantha L. Durham; Edwin L. MacDonald; Aaron M. Brown; and Lori A. Wyeth. Through her children, “Grandma Penny” was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
