Penelope A. Brown

Penelope Anne Brown, 71 of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024. Penny was born July 6, 1952 in Rinteln, Germany, to the late Geoffrey and Muriel Anderson.

Penny was a special education aide and later worked as a veterinary technician. She was a member at Epworth United Methodist Church, and spent every Friday with her bible study group, who were very dear to her.

Penny was an avid traveler, both throughout the US and abroad, with her husband Paul. She loved mysteries of any form, be it in a novel while curled up in her favorite chair, or on television, especially when one of her favorite British series released something new.

She loved her work as a veterinary technician, and could often be found attentively watching various veterinary surgery programs, as well as nature documentaries. During the Formula 1 season, she enjoyed watching the races together with her family, and texting about each new development.

Having the family gather in her home, for any reason, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, or even just a nice day, was one of her favorite things. She was an excellent cook and baker, and loved providing for everyone and seeing them feel at home and happy.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Conner Suite, with the funeral service following at 6:00 pm.

Penny is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Margaret E. “Meg” (husband, David A.) Loyd and Peter G. (wife, Trân B. Vuong) Brown; grandson Augustus A. “Augie” Loyd; twin sister, Victoria E. “Toya” Bultman; niece, Amanda M. (husband, Clarence J.) Earles; nephew David O. (wife, Mandi E.) Bultman. She was preceded in death by her brother, David W. B. Anderson.
