Peggy Lee Payton

Pastor Peggy Payton, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Westside Health Village. Peggy was born in Panther, West Virginia January 10, 1945, the daughter of Lark and Ethel (Cline) Lee. Peggy and her late husband, Rev. Jesse R. Payton, Sr., pastored The Spirit of Truth Church for many years. Peggy was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronnie Payton, sisters, Dorothy and Janet and her brother Bob. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Patricia Jones; sons, Jessie Payton, Jr., and Jeffrey Payton all of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jessica Walker, Jeremy, Kristen, Kyle and Brittany Payton and Justin Jones; great-grandchildren, Luke, Shelby and Brooklyn Walker; sisters, Linda, Fay, Patsy, Norma and Brenda; brothers, James, Bill and Jimmy. Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd., Indianapolis, IN with Rev. David Gibson officiating.
