Peggy Grider

Margaret “Peggy” Irene Grider, age 77 of Indianapolis passed away peacefully Friday night on August 28, 2026.

Peggy was born on March 6, 1949 in Indianapolis, a daughter of Charles and Mary Francis (Jester) Coslett,

She was the beloved wife of Phillip Lee Grider, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they spent their life creating a home filled with family, love, laughter, and memories.

She was a devoted mother to Jeffrey Grider and Karen Harris (David) and a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

She is also survived by her siblings, Grace McGinn, Tomi Belcher (Ron), Shirley Stout (James), and Charles Coslett (Debbie). She is preceded in death by both parents.

Peggy graduated from George Washington High School in 1969. She later built a long term career with Herff Jones, where she worked as a data processor. She took pride in her work and in the many years she spent with the company. She later worked for Target as a computer programmer for many years.

Peggy will be remembered for her love of family, her holiday decor spirit, her devotion to Indiana sports, her sweet tooth, and the countless memories she created with those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. And if Peggy had anything to say about it, dessert came first. She believed life was too short to wait for the good stuff.

She leaves behind a lifetime of love that will continue through her husband, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, extended family, and friends. Though she is deeply missed, her love and memories will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A celebration of life was held for Peggy amongst loved ones at Charter Care of Senior Living of Hobbs Stations.
