Peggy Jean Colson

Peggy Colson, 86, of Zionsville, IN fell asleep in Jesus at 9:19 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15

Peggy Jean (Cottingham) Colson was born on Monday, March 21, 1938 in Pekin, IL, the second daughter of Eugene Leigh and Violet Gray (Creighton) Cottingham.  She was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit in December of 1947, and on June 15, 1958 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Gordon Charles Colson, both took place at First Baptist Church in Pekin. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Creighton Leigh on July 26, 1964 and Christopher Jon on December 30, 1965.

“The LORD gives and the LORD takes away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” Job 1:21 We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister in Christ, Peggy Jean Colson.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11250 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with Committal at Union Lutheran Cemetery in Zionsville, immediately following the service.
