Pearl Stewart Salyers 94 of Brownsburg, formerly Speedway, IN died May 14, 2016. Pearl was born on May 04, 1922 in Coalmont, IN to Earl M. and Mabel (Griffith) Roe. Pearl was a former member of Speedway Methodist Church. Pearl began her career as a long distance telephone operator for Indiana Bell where she worked there for 44 years. When Pearl retired June 01, 1990 she was the management administrator when Indiana Bell became Ameritech. She was also a member of Pioneers of America. Pearl gave of her time talent and treasure while living in Florida where she was a volunteer for Walker Hospital in Avon Park, Florida. Pearl was preceded in death by her first husband Edgar L Stewart and her second husband John A. Salyers and her brother Masil Roe. Calling will be on Thursday May 19, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway from Noon to 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Pearl is survived by her son Donald L (Beverly Hartlage) Stewart and Dr. Carol (Robert) Stewart-Bates, her grandson Thomas L. Stewart and her great grandson Griffin T. Stewart.
