Pauline I. Robas

May 20, 1930 — May 14, 2023

Indianapolis, IN

Pauline Isabelle Robas, formerly Arnold (nee Yarmilitz), age 92, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 14, 2023.

Pauline was born on May 20, 1930 to the late Andrew Yarmilitz and Almeda Ellen (Jackson) Yarmilitz in Oaklandon, IN where she and her sister Wilma enjoyed their childhood and early adult years. Shortly after giving birth to their first daughter in Santa Monica, Pauline and Carl relocated back to the Indianapolis area where Pauline assumed the role of a loving and devoted homemaker eventually raising four children. As a mother, Pauline’s loving spirit and generous ways were distributed equally among her children through words of encouragement, endearing hugs and always assisting their needs. Over the years and never taking time out to rest, Pauline enjoyed chauffeuring her children to all of their events, ballgames, frequent happenings and many other plentiful activities.

After successfully raising two daughters and two sons, Pauline worked at Western Electric until she became a Standards Technician for Bio Dynamics—Boehringer Mannheim from 1974 until she retired in 1989. After her retirement, Pauline met and married her second husband Leo Joseph Robas and the two of them enjoyed many memorable cruise destinations and other vacations traveling around the world. One of Pauline’s fondest memories was her trip to Israel in April 1990 where she was baptized in the Jordan River.

In addition to her love of animals, Pauline was an avid sports enthusiast who regularly followed the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Pauline loved to keep up with current events, enjoyed watching True Crime Mystery Shows and was a member of the Moose Club and Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
