Paulette Nichols Schmutte

72, of Indianapolis, joined the Lord peacefully on October 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 19, 1944 to the late Paul and Grace (Stambro) Nichols. Paulette graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1962. She retired after 20 1/2 years of service with the Indianapolis State Police. This is where she met and married her loving husband, William G. Schmutte. They were married October 16, 1965 and had celebrated 48 years. Those who preceded Paulette were her beloved husband William G. Schmutte and brother Paul S. (Nick) Nichols. She is survived by daughters, Julie Anna Strain (Scott), Jeanna Grace Borsa (MIke); her twin grandchildren, Grace Anna Sue, Robert William and grandchild Isabella Hope; brothers and sisters, Wanda Nichols, Timothy R. Nichols (Georgetta), Vicki E. Koors and Marigrace Nichols; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will take place at Christ the KIng Catholic Church, 18277 Kessler Blvd. East Dr., Indianapolis, on November 4, 2016 at noon. Visitation will at at 10:00 am until time of service. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Besides flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
