Paula Lanning Sanford

Paula Lanning Sanford of Indianapolis passed away on October 12, 2022 at the age of 74.

She was born January 22, 1948 in Hartford City, IN to John Richard and Yolanda (Mannix) Lanning.

Paula was graduated from Hartford City High School and thereafter took a number of college-level classes, extending her full attention to a working career.  She was employed by The Bell Telephone Company (now AT & T) and retired as a team supervisor for the billing system in 2001 after a highly successful career of 35 years.

Paula enjoyed time with her husband and family and many friends, many of whom are members of the YMCA at the Athenaeum.  She was an avid and talented greeting card maker who, as a grandson once said at a young age, “they’re just like art.”  She was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Wayne L. Sanford, her sister Kristina Pace, children Jared Mason Schloerb, Julie Sanford Plake (husband, Tom), and Amy Sanford Reynolds (husband, Richard), and her grandchildren Bailey and Gavin Schloerb, Nathan and Noah Plake, and Abby, Jesse, and Benjamin Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
