Paula S. Fugate

Paula S. Fugate, 87, of Carmel, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born in Galion, OH, Paula was the daughter of the late Paul B. and Eleanor Gottfried. She was a proud graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH.

Paula was an accomplished pianist and devoted the early part of her career to teaching music to elementary students in Hamilton, OH. Her lifelong love of music brought joy not only to her students but to all who knew her. Later, her creativity and passion for crafts inspired her to co-own The Gingerbread House, a beloved craft consignment shop in LaPorte, IN.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl Fugate. She is survived by her children, Tom (Lisa) Gabbert and Katy (Phil) Riley; and by her three grandchildren, Ryan Gabbert, Sean Gabbert, and Grace Erwin, who brought immense joy to her life.

Private family services will be held.
