Paul Stanton
Walker
Aug 18, 1946 — Jul 29, 2026
Indianapolis, IN
With heavy but grateful hearts, we mourn the passing of Paul Stanton Walker, who departed this life unexpectedly on July 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on August 18, 1946, in Hartford, Connecticut, Paul’s journey through life was one marked by steadfast devotion, enduring love, and a quiet, resolute faith.
Paul's last moments were filled with the very hope and humility that shaped his life’s example. Even as his family held onto hope until the end, Paul’s final words were a prayer to the Lord—a lasting testament to the faith that carried him through both triumph and trial. While his passing leaves us with a profound sense of loss, we are comforted by the knowledge that his spirit left with words of grace on his lips.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Walker, who stood by his side in all of life's seasons, and whose partnership brought him immense joy and strength. He was deeply proud of his children: son Christopher Walker, daughters Candace Walker and Shelly Walker, as well as step-daughter Heaven Turk and step-son Patrick Sturgeon. In each of his children and stepchildren, Paul’s caring heart and sound guidance live on.
The legacy Paul leaves is further enriched by his cherished grandchildren: Greydon Walker, Andrew Walker, Patrick Sturgeon Jr., Samuel Jay Turk, Alexandria Brenea Turk, Faith Noel Nixon, Keith Sturgeon, and Parker Sturgeon. To this new generation, Paul was more than a grandfather—he was a source of gentle wisdom and boundless affection. That same gentle touch blessed his great-grandchildren: Kadience Sturgeon, Eli Sturgeon, Ollie Sturgeon, Sebastian Turk, and Ah’Thiea Turk, who will carry his memory into the future.
Paul’s journey was shaped by those who went before him—his father, Leonard Walker; his mother, Ruth Walker; and his step-mother, Barbara Walker. Their love and teachings helped form the man who grew to become a pillar for his own family.
Though the milestones and memories that shaped Paul’s years are too many to count, what remains most vivid is the way he made us feel—safe, loved, and inspired to be our best selves. Whether through a quiet moment of advice, a shared family gathering, or the simple, constant presence of his love, Paul’s life touched everyone he met. His unwavering faith, undiminished by life’s challenges, stands as his greatest gift to us all.
Family and friends are invited to honor Paul's life at a series of services. A viewing will be held on August 4, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Centers - Speedway, 2950 N High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46224. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Later that afternoon, a graveside service will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 W 21st St, Indianapolis, IN 46234.
As we say goodbye to Paul Stanton Walker, we do so with full and grateful hearts. His memory will remain alive in every story told, every prayer whispered, and every life shaped by his kindness. May he rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of the Lord to whom he prayed so faithfully, and may we honor him by carrying forward the light he so generously shared.
