Paul W. Capes, 87, of Speedway, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011. He was born November 24, 1923 in Jennings County, IN. to Frank and Maude Capes. Paul served in the U. S. Army as a Veterinary Technician 1943-1945. He worked for the Pennsylvania, Nickel Plate and Norfolk Western Railroads, retiring in 1984. Paul was a member of the Chapel Rock Christian Church and the China-Burma-India Veterans Association. He loved family, travel and fishing. He was married to Dorothy M. Munson from September 5, 1943 until her passing on January 18, 1997. He was then married to Berniece Garrison July 5, 1997 until her passing on September 28, 2010. He is survived by his children Paul Ray (Carl Etta) Capes, Steven (Anne) Capes, Heather (Jeff) Terrell, step-children Judith Carlson, E. Lou (Robert) Jones, and John H. (Sharon) Allen; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Mr. Capes will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Speedway on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 10am. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 until 8 pm, also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Chapel Rock Christian Church or the Hayden Historical Museum.
