Paul Lee Shrader

October 13, 1946 — September 2, 2023

Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – Paul Shrader passed away on September 2, 2023. Paul was born in Indianapolis to parents Loren and Myrtle (Lawson) Shrader on October 13, 1946. He was 76 years old.

After earning two Computer Technology degrees from IVY Technical College in 1969 he worked for many years as a research consultant within the banking industry. However, he lived for his family. He would call and check up on his brother and sister’s families at least once a week until his passing. “Uncle” was always someone his nieces and nephews could turn to and confide in.

He was known as the family historian, as he enjoyed researching genealogy and connecting the past with future generations.

Paul thrived on learning new things, especially anything related to cars or machinery. He was extremely smart with a photographic memory and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. Studying various religions and cultures intrigued him and most recently he was learning the Hebrew language.

Above all, Paul was a kind generous man with a loving heart. He loved his family and rescue dog, Delilah more than any other treasure found on Earth.

He will be sorely missed.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his son, Moses who passed at the age of five, and brother Charles Shrader.

Paul is survived by his sister, Rosella Hill (Jerry), and many, many nieces and nephews.

Family will gather for services at graveside on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Washington Park East Cemetery (10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter of your choice in honor of Paul and his beloved Delilah who misses him dearly.
