Paul Alan Messmore Was born September 18, 1963 to Alan E. and Bonnie S. (Tharp) Messmore. He passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. Paul was still planning a back-to-nature trip just days before his death. He was 46 years old. Paul was a 1981 graduate of Center Grove High School in Greenwood, IN. He joined the U.S. Army and served proudly until 1984. His military service included combat in Grenada and advanced training in aircraft maintenance. Paul's military specialization and expertise was as a helicopter technician. Both during his military service and later as a civilian, he was recognized widely as a superior helicopter technician and mechanic. During his civilian years, Paul was employed by P.H.I. (Petroleum Helicopters Incorporated) where he was placed in important posi-tions around the globe. He prided himself in having traveled to and lived in exotic and foreign sites unknown to most Americans. His feet touched all continents, save for Africa and Antarctica. He was meticulous in his personal and professional life and lived in an immaculate home. These are just two examples of his disciplined and service-dedicated life. Paul is survived by his parents, a loving brother, Patrick E. Messmore, a step-daughter, Renata Winters, many aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Paul will be missed sadly by so many, now that he is with our Lord and Savior. There he will be glorified, suffering no more. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday June 4, 2010 at the Hoosier Patriot's Memorial on the grounds of Washington Park East Cemetery.
