Paul H. Gaines

Paul H. Gaines, 79, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 in his home, surrounded by his beloved family. Paul was born April 7, 1936 in Stanford, Kentucky to the late Andrew and Mittie Katherine (Thomas) Gaines.

Paul was the owner of two successful Standard Oil Service Stations and Westside Scavenger Service, which was recognized as one of Indiana’s largest growing small businesses.

Paul owned 94 cars over his lifetime and created friendships over the many customers he served. Most of his family and friends will remember the rounds of golf, poker and bowling. He was most known for his bountiful garden and the enjoyment he felt when sharing vegetables with family and friends.

Paul is survived by his wife of 54yrs, Deanna; daughters, Sheri (Brandon) Leum and Sandra (David) Miller; eight grandchildren; and his brother, Jay Gaines.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 18 at Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 19 at the same location.
