Patty Borman

November 26, 1929 — June 12, 2012

Patty Lou Borman, Indianapolis and Dauphin Is. Alabama passed away June 12, 2012. She was born November 26, 1929 to the late Orlan and Thelma Varvil. Proceeded in death by her husband David H. Borman and brother Robert C. Varvil. Survived by her son Gerald D. Borman, daughters Ann M. Weifenbach, Barbara J. Galt, Judith L. Borman and grandsons Zachary, Jason, Tyler, Jeremy and Jared. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947 going to work at LinkBelt. She married David in 1955 and they began raising a family that would eventually total four children. In the 60's she picked up the game of golf which she enjoyed into the 21st century and her love of bridge was well known. In the early 70's Patty and David started visiting the Alabama Gulf Coast eventually setting up a second home on Dauphin Island . In 1982 Patty and David retired to "The Island" while still visiting family and friends regularly in Indy. She lost David in 1984 though in the coming years she started gaining grandsons. She enjoyed travel taking many cruises as well as visiting New Zealand and Australia. Her friendship with Richard McCarthy added another group of friends and acquaintances from his sphere including his family that along with her Dauphin Island friends and of course all of her classmates, former co-workers, card playing/ golfing buddies and friends and family that will miss her dearly. Memorial service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple. You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story.
