Patsy Sue (Centers) Fletcher age 84 was born January 23, 1940 in Uz, Kentucky to Ernie Franklin Centers and Ada Mae Dixon, the 2nd of two children. Patsy graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis, IN, where in her freshman year she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Patsy is preceded in death by both parents and a sister; Joyce Ogez.
She is survived by her husband, Paul L. Fletcher of Indianapolis. They met at Gospel Assembly Church in Indianapolis and were wed June 8th, 1957 – enjoying 67 wonderful years together.
Patsy was a devoted mother of three children: Douglas Fletcher (Sara) of Mooresville, IN, Deborah Fletcher of Indianapolis, IN and Mark Fletcher (Phyllis) of Mooresville, IN. She was also a loving grandmother to Ashley, Lauren, Douglas II, Nick and great-grandmother to four with a fifth great-grandchild due in March.
Patsy was a homemaker, was very involved with her children and their activities; volunteering at Ernie Pyle Elementary School library, and also as room mother while her children were younger. She also led her kid’s 4-H, attended numerous sports events including her children’s National Junior Tennis League, Cubs Scouts and Brownies.
Patsy attended Ivy Tech’s Nursing Program earning straight A’s, worked at the Hemophilia Foundation, seasonally at the Post Office, and also worked at the election polls along with other various employments.
Patsy was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ making sure to raise her children in church and teach them about God’s love and salvation. She attended Life Tabernacle Church of Indianapolis, IN.
She passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 13th 2024. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Life Tabernacle Church 3540 Oliver Ave Indianapolis, IN 46241 in Patsy’s honor.
