It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Patrick Maurice Stroude, who left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on November 24, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, Patrick grew up in a home full of love and eight siblings. He carried with him a natural charisma that made everyone feel welcome. He was accepting of all, genuinely wished the best for everyone he met, and had a mischievous, fun-loving spirit that brought joy to many. He found his greatest happiness in family especially in playing with his grandchildren, whose laughter was his favorite music. He cherished time spent with his sons and brothers playing Stroude Golf and his devotion to Michigan college sports was unwavering. His love of Western movies, trips to Michigan and Brown County, and hours spent outdoors cultivating the perfect yard reflected his appreciation for simple pleasures. His legacy is one of kindness and humor and he will be remembered for the warmth he gave so freely to others.
He is survived by his children, Erik (Jocelyn) Stroude, John Stroude, Carlena Brackins, Adam Stroude, and Conner Swift; his grandchildren, Ayden, Noelle, Ava, Kayla, Mason, Alaina, Silas, and Cameron; his mother Louise Loyd; his sisters, Jackie (Jim) Osborne, Becky Marksberry, Jeanne (Phil) Warlick, and Lou Ann Williams; and his brother Jeff (Donna) Stroude. He was preceded in death by his son Kevin Stroude; his brothers Mike Stroude, Greg Stroude, and Robert Stroude; and his brother-in-law Chuck Marksberry.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to Community Hospice who cared for Patrick in his final days. Their compassion and gentle presence brought comfort not only to him, but to all of us who stood by his side. Their support allowed us to focus on love, connection, and peace during those precious moments.
