Patricia Lynne Weisgerber

November 13, 1944 — November 16, 2023

Carmel, IN

Patricia Weisgerber (née McInerney), age 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away November 16, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born November 13, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Arthur and Virginia (née Rogers) McInerney.

She is survived by her husband Thomas of 56 years; her oldest son Matthew (wife, Angela), and grandchildren Jacob Gross, Trysten Fugate, and Tessa Weisgerber of Carmel, IN; her youngest son Scott (wife, Kami) of Indianapolis, IN. Patricia was the eldest of six children, her brothers: John (deceased), Thomas, Gregg, Brian, and Kevin.

After graduating from Frankenmuth High School in 1962, Patricia worked at General Motors Saginaw Steering Gear Division as a clerk in the product engineering department. She married Thomas Weisgerber in February of 1967 and they lived in Saginaw Township, MI and had two children, Matthew and Scott. After staying home to raise her boys, she went back to work full time and eventually back to school in the evenings and weekends to get her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University in 1997, at the age of 54.

Patricia always worked to make a difference in her community. She worked as a Recipient's Rights Officer at Saginaw County Mental Health where she traveled throughout the county inspecting care residences and ensuring the well-being of the patients. After retiring, she and Tom moved to Fishers, Indiana in 2001 to be near family, but that certainly didn’t slow her down. She took a position at Janus Development Services helping people with disabilities with on-the-job training to become independent. We as her friends and family couldn’t think of a better person to be an advocate for those in need.

Over the years, Patricia had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader, which led her to working at the Hamilton East Public Library in Fishers, where she made new friends of like mind. She was famous for her many beautiful works of stained glass, loved her baby grand piano, and driving her convertible BMW. Patricia especially loved spending her days gardening in her yard with her granddaughter Tessa. Always learning something new, she achieved her Advanced Master Gardener certification. Over her lifetime she also loved and cared for many animals whether wild, stray, or rescued, especially her Terriers!

Patricia was a leader in her family.  Everyone always knew they could rely on her for her complete support and unconditional love.  Even through her diagnosis with lung cancer, she fought hard, never wavered, and showed optimism to the very end.  She will be missed dearly and the world will not be the same without her in it.
