Patricia A. Rutledge

Patricia, at the age of 100, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, surrounded by a lifetime of memories and the love of the many people whose lives she touched.

Born on November 23, 1925, in Indianapolis, Patricia was the daughter of the late Haskel and Margaret Gift. Over the course of her remarkable 100 years, she witnessed a century of change, celebrated countless milestones, and, most importantly, built a beautiful legacy through her family and the lives she touched along the way.

Patricia was a graduate of Southern Seminary Community College and worked as a Cosmetic Consultant for Vanda Beauty Counselor. She was also a member of the Smyrna Shrine Guild, where she formed friendships and shared many meaningful moments throughout the years.

Family was an important part of Patricia's life, and her greatest legacy will be the generations she leaves behind. She is survived by her children, Steve (Debbie) Fleming, Jim (Cheryl) Fleming, Charles (Susie) Fleming, and Margaret “Peggy” (Randy) King; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William R. Fleming and Joseph P. Rutledge; her parents, Haskel and Margaret Gift; and two grandchildren.

To live 100 years is a remarkable gift, but to leave behind four generations of family is an even greater legacy. Patricia's life will continue through the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the love she gave to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma.

A century of life leaves behind countless memories, and Patricia's greatest gift was the love she gave and the family she built. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 5th, 2026, from 11am to 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Funeral service will be Monday, October 5th, 2026, at 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Entombment will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery.
