Patricia "Patty" L. Quatman

Patricia “Patty” L. Quatman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a cherished member of the Indianapolis community, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on May 1, 1947, in Indianapolis, Patty dedicated her life to helping others, serving as a registered nurse for an incredible 45 years. She embodied the essence of compassion and care, always bringing a kind and welcoming spirit to those around her.

Patty was not only a stalwart in her professional life but also a beloved Matriarch of her family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James E. Quatman, Sr., whose love, and companionship were a testament to their enduring bond. Together, they raised a beautiful family that shares in the legacy of her kindness. She leaves behind her children: Caroline Miller, Katie Thompson (Dave), Beth Messer (Jeremy), Jimmy Quatman (Ashley), and Billy Quatman (Shae). Each of them carries with them cherished memories of a mother who embraced them with warmth.

As a proud grandmother of 11, Patty found immense joy in her grandchildren, creating unforgettable moments filled with laughter and love. Her personality was wonderful that could light up any room, and her ability to make others feel at ease was a gift she shared generously.

In her precious free time, Patty loved indulging in her hobbies that nourished her creative spirit. She found solace and joy in quilting and sewing, often sharing her handcrafted creations with family and friends. Her passion for reading, especially romance novels, added another layer to her vibrant personality.

Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Good, and her beloved son-in-law, Carl Miller. 

Family and friends are invited to honor Patty's life at a visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Broad Ripple Funeral and Cremation, located at 1305 Broad Ripple Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A Mass will be celebrated in her memory on Friday, January 10, 2025, starting at 10:30 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
