Patricia Haynes Henshaw Donnell

Patricia Haynes Henshaw Donnell was born in DeKoven, Kentucky, on January 14, 1924 to Thomas A. and Madleen Henderson Henshaw. She passed away Sunday, October 9th, after a short stay in the Health Care Center of Marquette Manor. Growing up on the east side of Indianapolis, Pat met her future husband, Fred L. Donnell, in the 3rd grade when they both attended IPS #33. They both graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. Pat earned a B.A. from Butler University in 1946 and a M.S. in Sociology from Indiana University in 1952. She became a Charter Member of the National Association of Social Workers in 1955. Most of her work career was spent with the Riley's Children Hospital. Patty is survived by Fred, her husband of forty-five years, and two step-sons, Fred (Shelley) Donnell III of Williamsburg, VA and Timothy (Lorraine) Donnell of Chicago, IL, as well as six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 20th, in the Chapel at Marquette. Patty was a generous supporter of Gleaners Food Bank and in lieu of flowers her family asks that donations be made in her name to that organization at 1102 E. 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
