Patricia Anne Kirk

Patricia Anne (Foddrill) Kirk passed away on Mother’s Day at the age of 91. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 7, 1927 to Wayne Foddrill and Josephine (Workman) Foddrill.  She was raised and schooled in Bloomfield, Indiana graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1944.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gene Kirk, and her only sibling Donald Wayne Foddrill.  She is survived by her three children Karel A. Kirk, Allen R. Kirk (both in Indianapolis) and Michael W. (Linda) Kirk of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She worked throughout her life starting as a clerk in the Greene County Courthouse, selling miscellaneous products at house parties, and working for Polaroid at various venues throughout the Indianapolis area.  She also became a member of a Sweet Adeline Singing Quartet participating in many contests throughout the United States.  (As a teenager in Bloomfield, Indiana she was asked many, many times to perform solos at various weddings of her friends.)  In the mid 60s, she started selling Avon door-to-door and continued doing this for over 42 years.  She was a member of the highly respected Avon President’s Club for many years earning many prizes and awards.  Through the years, she and her husband traveled around the world.  After his death, she continued to travel a great deal going to one of her favorite places (Alaska) many times She was so very personable that when she met fellow travelers, she retained their friendships for all time.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 18^th at 6:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street with visitation two hours prior to the service (4:00-6:00 p.m.). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
