Patricia A. (Alexander) Alles, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at Wellbrooke of Carmel.
Known affectionately as Pat to family and friends, she was the daughter of Ruth and Gene Vauters from Easley, South Carolina, and moved to Indiana at a young age. She graduated from Brownsburg High School and began a career that included various roles, eventually leading her to the Holiday Inn near the Indianapolis International Airport—where she met her future husband, Ken Alles.
After the birth of their daughter, Jennifer, Pat began working at Merchants Bank in downtown Indianapolis and later retired from National City Bank in 2008.
Pat always cherished her Southern roots, making annual (and often semi-annual) trips back “home” to South Carolina to visit her father, cousins, and lifelong friends. She found great joy in spending time with her grandsons, Luke and Logan, and keeping in touch with loved ones through social media, especially as her health declined. Though not a Purdue alum herself, she became a devoted fan thanks to her husband, daughter, and in-laws, sharing in their love for the Boilermakers.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Branden) Renner, and grandsons, Luke and Logan Renner, all of Carmel, IN; and by her father, Gene Vauters of Hebron, KY. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken, earlier this year; her mother, Ruth; and her brother, Steve.
A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pat’s honor to the Purdue for Life Foundation. Contributions can be made online at [email protected] or mailed to: Purdue Foundation, 403 W. Wood Street, West Lafayette, IN 47907.
