Patricia A. Smoots

Patricia A. Smoots, 74, Fishers, passed away March 3, 2022. She was born in Wolf Lake, IN on April 17, 1947 to Jerry and Betty LeMieux.
Pat grew up in Ligonier, IN and graduated from Ligonier High School in 1965. She spent most of her career working at Superior Sample Company, retiring in 2014.
In 1961 Pat met Jim Smoots at a dance and their relationship began. They were married on July 16, 1966. They spent over 60 wonderful years together and were blessed with two children, Pam and Tim. Later in life she was enriched by her four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Before moving to Fishers in 2021, Jim and Pat lived in Kendallville, IN on Cobblestone Golf Course for 20 years. They enjoyed golfing together and also with many friends. They loved vacationing on Hilton Head Island, creating wonderful memories with their family. Pat was an active member of St. Gasper’s Catholic Church in Rome City. She was also passionate about raising money for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. Throughout the years her kindness, generosity, and selflessness touched all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; her children Pam (Randy) Shoemaker and Tim (Laura) Smoots; grandchildren Kayla (Ben) Van Hook, Spencer (Rebekah) Shoemaker, Daniel Smoots, Ben Smoots; great granddaughter Millie Van Hook; brother Stan (Karen) LeMieux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Betty LeMieux.

• Memorial Gathering: Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite)
o Friday, March 11, 2022 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
o Pat and family require that all in attendance wear a mask as we have family and friends who are immune compromised.
o Following the memorial gathering there will be a private ceremony for family where the urn will be placed in its final resting location.
