Pamela Sue Young

August 12, 1957 — October 17, 2025

Lafayette

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Pamela “Pam” Sue (Cross) Young, 68, of Lafayette, IN, on October 17, 2025. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior after bravely enduring a 15-year battle with breast cancer.

Pam was born on August 12, 1957, to James O. and Marjorie (Clevenger) Cross in Noblesville, IN. A lifelong Miller, Pam graduated from Noblesville High School in the class of 1975. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and a master’s in education from Ball State University.

Pam dedicated over 40 years of her career as a Special Education teacher at Greenwood High School, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and creativity. She was a gifted storyteller, delighting her family with original tales during their travels across the country. Pam’s love of adventure took her to many places, including a recent trip to Ireland with her daughter and, just a week before her passing, a 20-day tour of New Zealand with her sisters.

A passionate supporter of the performing arts, Pam was deeply involved with the Belfry Theater in Noblesville, IN, where she acted, produced, and helped select plays. Her faith was central to her life; she read her Bible daily, often aloud to her beloved puppy Cooper. Pam also founded a service group at Eastside Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN organizing and delivering gifts and spiritual messages to shut-ins and elderly church members.

Pam leaves behind her cherished husband, Barry Puskar of Lafayette, IN, and her red poodle, Cooper Puskar. She is also survived by her sisters Dawn (Wayne) Moore and Lisa (Tim) Cranston; daughter Amber (Aaron) Williams; son Aaron (Adriann) Young; grandchildren Elin Seybert, Evan Williams, Bennett Young, and Samuel Young; nephews Adam Moore, Jonathan (Amanda) Moore, Scott (Lorene) Cranston, and Brandon Cranston; great nieces/nephews Ryder Moore, Gage Moore, Gunner Moore, and Paislee Moore; step-son Brian (Carrie) Puskar; step-daughter Tabitha (John) Milano; and five step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James O. Cross and Marjorie (Clevenger) Cross of Noblesville, IN.

Pam’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
