Pamela Sue Butcher, 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2018. She was born December 30, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Roy and Carol Sue Davis.
A lifetime Indiana resident, Pamela graduated from Northwest High School in 1971. Just a few years later in 1973, she went on a blind date that would prove to change her life. It was over Steak n’ Shake and the movie Paper Moons she fell in love in Carrell Butcher. The two would marry and spend 42 wonderful, loving years together before her passing. She worked for what was then Indiana Bell until her retirement in 2000 at 48 years old. She was an active member at Southport Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school to young children and participated in the lady’s euchre group. Family remembers Pamela as a loving, independent woman who wasn’t shy about sharing the Word of God with all those around her. She was a witty woman who inspired everyone around her and gave the best hugs; the kind of hug where you would feel pure love. Pamela was outspoken, no-nonsense, and super competitive…at just about everything. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and traveling. The family often took vacations to Florida and have lots of memories in the sun to hold on to. Pamela will be truly missed by all those who were blessed enough to meet her, but as a Godly woman with a family strong in the Faith of God, they know they will be seeing her again.
Pamela is predeceased by her father, Roy Davis. Surviving to cherish her memory are mother, Carol Sue Davis; her loving husband of 42 years, Carrell Butcher; children, John (Gina) Butcher, Jerry Butcher, and Heather (Michael) Sheean; siblings, Rodney Davis and Matthew (LuAnn) Davis; grandchildren, Justin (Carrie) Butcher, Jeramy Butcher, Kelsey (Trevor) Szegda, Mariah Butcher, Alex Butcher, Cadence Sheean, Brady Sheean, Julissa Butcher, Jason Butcher, and Anastyn Sheean; great-grandchildren, Jaiden Butcher and Grayson Covey, and a host of extended family members and friends.
